About

About this data

A plain, side-by-side catalogue of home batteries, complete systems and inverters sold in the UK.

Methodology

Specifications are provisional, compiled from manufacturer information and not independently verified. Coverage of products available in the UK is not exhaustive. Dates shown are when a record was last checked.

Filters exclude products that have no data for the filtered specification.

Understanding specification status

Specs checked
The published specifications have completed our documented research verification process.
Provisional
The specifications have not yet completed that process.

Neither status means a product has been independently tested or certified. Battery Sorted does not test, certify or endorse products, and cannot guarantee that specifications are accurate.

Reading the numbers

Usable capacity is the energy you can actually draw; nominal capacity is the rated total. Battery discharge is DC power at the battery, which is not the same as an inverter's AC output.

“—” means data unavailable. “N/A” means the specification does not apply to that product.

Specification explanations

Nominal capacity
Rated energy capacity of the battery, which may be higher than the energy the user can access.
Usable capacity
Energy available to use under the manufacturer’s stated conditions; this is not necessarily the nominal capacity.
Maximum continuous battery discharge
Maximum continuous battery discharge. Maximum continuous battery-side DC discharge power under stated conditions. This is not the same as a hybrid inverter’s AC output power.
Peak battery discharge
Peak battery discharge. Short-duration peak battery-side discharge capability. Duration and conditions may vary by manufacturer.
Maximum battery charging power
Maximum battery charging power. Maximum battery-side DC charging power; the connected inverter may impose a lower limit.
Cell chemistry
Cell chemistry. Battery cell chemistry as stated by the manufacturer, for example LFP or NMC.
Depth of discharge
Maximum depth of discharge permitted under the manufacturer’s stated operating conditions.
Round-trip efficiency
Percentage of energy returned after charging and discharging under stated test conditions; battery-only and whole-system values may differ.
Ingress protection
Ingress protection. Ingress-protection rating of the battery enclosure, where disclosed by the manufacturer.
Approximate width
Approximate width. Approximate battery width; installation space and manufacturer clearances are additional requirements.
Approximate height
Approximate height. Approximate battery height; installation space and manufacturer clearances are additional requirements.
Approximate depth
Approximate depth. Approximate battery depth, excluding any necessary access and ventilation clearances.
Approximate weight
Approximate weight. Approximate battery mass as stated by the manufacturer; does not necessarily include optional accessories.
Expandable
Whether the manufacturer describes the battery as expandable with additional modules or units; not a guarantee of upgrade compatibility.
Rated cycles
Manufacturer-stated rated cycle life under defined test conditions; not the number of cycles necessarily covered by warranty.
Capacity retention after rated cycles
Capacity retention after rated cycles. Remaining usable capacity stated after the rated number of charge/discharge cycles, under the test conditions.
Cycle test depth of discharge
Cycle test depth of discharge. Depth of discharge used by the manufacturer when measuring the stated rated cycle life.
Warranty duration
Warranty duration. Manufacturer warranty duration in years, subject to conditions and potentially separate cycle or throughput limits.
Warranty cycle limit
Number of charge/discharge cycles covered by the warranty, if the manufacturer specifies a cycle limit. Distinct from rated cycle life.
Inverter type
Manufacturer-designated inverter class such as hybrid, battery-coupled, solar, or off-grid.
Rated AC output
Rated AC output. Continuous rated alternating-current output of the inverter; it may differ from the battery’s DC discharge limit.
Peak AC output
Short-duration alternating-current peak output; check duration and operating conditions.
Maximum PV input
Maximum photovoltaic input power supported by the inverter under stated conditions.
MPPT trackers
Number of maximum-power-point tracking channels, not necessarily the number of PV strings.
Grid phases
Grid phases. Single- or three-phase AC connection capability stated by the manufacturer.
Inverter efficiency
Manufacturer-reported inverter conversion efficiency under stated operating conditions.
Backup output
Rated power available through supported backup or emergency output, where provided.
Approximate complete-system width
Approximate complete-system width. Approximate complete-system width, not necessarily the same as a single component width.
Approximate complete-system height
Approximate complete-system height. Approximate complete-system height, not necessarily the same as a single component height.
Approximate complete-system depth
Approximate complete-system depth. Approximate complete-system depth, excluding manufacturer-required clearances.
